Where does the city’s name “Long Beach” come from?
The city’s original name was “Wilmore City”, but in 1888 due to its long, wide and attractive beaches it was renamed to “Long Beach”. Long Beach is bordered by 8 1/2 miles of clean, sandy beaches for you to enjoy.
